About SMAAC

The Saskatchewan-Manitoba-Alberta Abolition Coalition is an alliance of groups from across the prairie provinces who collaborate and organize together on issues of prison and police abolition. SMAAC organizes from our specific local contexts in solidarity and recognition of the unique historical, social, economic, and political circumstances that inform the development and maintenance of penal systems and institutions in the region.
